I am the merchandizing supervisor for a shop that delivers meat and produce to restaurants. It’s pretty demanding, as the tiniest deviation from their requirements usually has me scrambling to fix the situation. If what I give them isn’t what they need, then it’s almost always a do-over, or else I risk the client going to someone else.

I handle the merchandise itself, and just check on my people a few times a day, usually before I go home from work. I always felt that you had to be sort of a telepathic to anticipate what could happen during the workday, and I had a weird feeling about Tuesday. Well, maybe the maintenance people weren’t doing their jobs, or maybe it was just the sweltering heat, but that afternoon heat wilted half a truck of romaine lettuce that had to be delivered before the dinner rush.  Our funds were in a bit of a mess, as our finance officer left just a few days before. Nobody knew where we could get the extra money to order a new batch of produce from the market, and it was up to me to get us out of the weeds.

There were sites up for loan companies in San Manuel, Benson, Green Valley, Eloy, Casa Grande, Marana, Oracle, and Oro Valley. Their interest rates seemed too high for us to afford. I talked to a manager from Tucson Title Loans, and he saved the day. I didn’t have to wait long or even get a credit check – I gave them some basic info and the loan worked out. I was able to get approval in seconds, and the cash in hand the same day.
